Visited for the first time last week. I had an awesome breakfast at a great price. The waitress was also very attentive and friendly. I will definitley keep coming back.
Not as crowded or noisy as white rose. Good food and our waiter was very accommodating. I came here for breakfast with three kids under 6 by myself and the waiter brought them all crayons and coloring papers.
The original Nothing Fancy closed some time ago and was replaced by Simples, with a concept of fresh burgers served plain with a toppings bar so you could dress the burger up the way you want. It appears the name has changed again, so now the former building that was originally an A&W, then D'Angelos, then Nothing Fancy Cafe, then Simples, is now Nothing Fancy Cafe Again. We stopped in late on a Sunday afternoon and didn't really know what we would run into, but I love Mom & Pop restaurants so we gave it a try. First off, IMHO the Nothing Fancy refers to the exterior of the building. Once inside, it's a delightful cafe with tables and booths. It retains the small salad/toppings bar from Simples. We were pleasantly surprised by the specials that day--pot roast and after 2 PM on Sundays, $1 hamburgers with the purchase of a side dish. We got two burgers and expected them to be on the smallish side, but were pleasantly surprised when they came out as full-sized burgers. For my side, I got the one-trip salad bar, which had such toppings as onions, two types of shredded cheese, olives, (black and green) spinach, pickles, peppers, and a few other items. A wide variety of dressings and two types of BBQ sauce was also available in squirt bottles. The tables each had their own condiments, to include 3 different hot sauces and two types of steak sauce. Overall, food quality was good, very tasty, fresh, and hot so it's highly recommended. However, I think the name does this Cafe a disservice as it's really a nice place to eat. .
