Perfect park for family time with 2 playgrounds plus a water splash park, great walking trail & various ball fields.
The ball fields look nice. The walking trail is very good. (I've heard) And parking doesn't seem to be an issue. This year's 4th of July event and fireworks display at our park was fantastic, and completely upstaged the rest of the county. lol...it made Washington look like a poor man's St Charles (GO WILDCATS!!!) ^_^
The new Union City Park. My family and I would really love to see a new modern pool added in to the facility, but the free water playground keeps the kids entertained. I am jealous of the playgrounds though...where were all these zip lines and fixtures when I was a kid???? ^_^ As a parent with physical mobility issues, I dearly wish they could add more benches, a drinking fountain, and a shaded area at the playground by Progress Parkway. However if I had to choose between those things and the sponge matting that keeps my youngest from a series of concussions...the matting it is.
I have lived in union for about 17 years, never heard of this park until a friend was talking about it. We need to help our community get the word out about this wonderful location.
This is a fantastic park with several ball fields (baseball and soccer), a 1 mile walking trail, two playgrounds, family shelters, spacious bathrooms, picnic areas, a lake, and a splash park! What a beautiful gem for the city of Union. I highly recommend this playground!
The kids absolutely love this park! I would like to see some trees planted in the future around the actual playground area, as some shady areas would be a wonderful thing, but all in all, it's a great play area!
